Happy Birthday Windows Vista..

February 2, 2008

Let’s say Happy Birthday to Windows Vista. Yes.. Vista is celebrating its first birth day. Windows vista was made able to General public on January 30, 2007.

A real great OS which is driving the technology in more and more PCs every day.. If you are still on the old OS, switch to Windows Vista as it has got lot many features. Here are some facts since the launch of Windows Vista:

· Sales exceeded 100 million worldwide.
· More secured than the older versions of Windows OS.
· The study of the Windows Vista One-Year Vulnerability Report says that Vista has very fewer vulnerabilities than Windows XP
· Reduced the # of patches.

Also, availability of new features such as Windows Defender, Firewall, and other security features make tyro’s easy to keep the system safe.

I don’t want to recap all the features that Vista has, but can say that it is a real great OS. Time to see more features in the next upgrades :)

Been to Badaling Section of GWC..

February 11, 2007

Badaling is 70 kilometers far from northwest of the Beijing City. Badaling is a rare ancient military defense project. The elevation of it is about 1,000 meters. The wall of Badaling has a total length of 3, 741 meters with an average height of 8 meters The highest part is 15 meters. The total area for a tour is 19, 000 square meters. The top of the wall can permit five horses to be ridden abreast.

This section of the Great Wall was made by huge bar stones. Some of the stones have a height of two meters with a weight of hundreds kilograms. The top floor of the Great Wall is paved with square bricks which made the floor very orderly and smooth. On the highest place, signal fire platforms were set to send warning signals in the ancient China.
Near Badaling, there is a large-scaled Great-Wall-of-China Museum as well as the Great Wall National Theater from which you can get a full and complete view of the Great Wall.
